Alexandria "Alix"Rice 12-29-1992 - 7-9-2011
A young and amazingly spirited member of the Amherst community. She was often the person that would go out of her way to make sure you weren't left out. She sang, laughed and enjoyed life. Alix was an avid longboard and skateboard enthusiast. She was known for her generosity and her huge heart. Lost to soon to the hands of a drunk driver.
Alix Rice Peace Park Foundation
Formed in 2012, a 501C3 Non Profit with the sole purpose of building a free use skatepark. We built a 10,000 sq ft skatepark at the Amherst Recreation Center located on Amherst Manor Drive. We continue to maintain the park and fundraise for lessons.
You - The community of skaters that attend the park.
The youthful exuberance you display and the art you make is what we hoped would occur. The community of skate and BMX riders that attend and use the facility - You are the carrying on of what Alix loved. THANK YOU - For respecting her park.
